T.C. 1949 envelopes with Travancore stamps

2 MAILS on the same date & place...but addressed to different persons.

1949 July 23.... Travancore-Cochin (T.C.) period registered folded letter affixed with Travancore stamps from Thazhathagady, Kottayam(8 Karkatakam 1124) to Tiruvella....duly refused by the addresee & sent to Trichur where the senders address is.

The reason for affixing Travancore stamps instead, might be due to T.C. overprinted stamps of Travancore running short or stock not yet arrived.....hence only one T.C. 'One Anna' stamp seen.

Travancore & Cochin merged on July 1st 1949.

Very scarce.

Travancore-Cochin (T.C.) period registered folded letter affixed with Travancore stamps (except for One Anna T.C. stamp) from Thazhathagady, Kottayam (8 Karkatakam 1124) to Manipuzha, Tiruvella (12 Karkatakam)....duly refused by the addresee & sent to the sender's address in Trichur(26 Karkatakam) where the senders address is, eventhough it is posted in Thazhathagady, Kottayam.

3 CHUCKRAM Envelope...INVERTED ...Misprint.

Travancore 3 Chuckram envelope...stamp printed on inverted thin cream laid paper, with embossing "NUZARALLY & GUMROODINS" STATIONERS BOMBAY.

139×80mm..almost silimar to K4.

Unrecorded in Deschyl & P G Wells, but recorded in H& G (Envelopes 3b).

Rare.
