TOO LATE...നീതിപൊകെ...നീതിപോകെ.. ONLY 2 Reported, so far.

Rule 28 of April 15, 1888 of the Anchal department of Travancore notified under the signature of the Dewan V. Ramiengar (Travancore directory page 104) lays down specific instructions in the stamping of these TOO LATE (നീതിപോകെ) markings...

"Letters must be posted atleast half an hour before the time fixed for the closing of the mail. Letters posted after that time will be stamped 'TOO LATE', and detained for the following day's mail. The time of the closing of the mail will be notified by the Anchal Master at every station".


This scroll type (Renouf's type 77a) with the malayalam inscription 'നീതിപൊകെ' (Null & void...Too late) is a silent message to inform the recipient, that this letter was posted late and was held up at the anchal office of posting, to be despatched only by the subsequent mail.
