Travancore Registered Envelopes, where 'CHUKRAMS' is printed instead of 'CHUCKRAMS'.
Registered envelope of Travancore were issued around 1915, with a denomination of Three and a half Chuckram (3 1/2 Ch). These envelopes were available with and without cloth linings.
Registered envelope of the same were surcharged (red) with 3 Ch 10 Cash were in use later around 1932.
These registered envelopes were found seldom used, as these were not so popular with the public at large.
A personal study.. interesting to note that these are the only 2 envelopes of Travancore where 'CHUKRAMS' is printed instead of 'CHUCKRAMS'.
'CHUKRAMS'... Second 'C" is missing, which has deviated from the normally printed 'CHUCKRAMS', in all other envelopes. Not mentioned in any articles or catalogue.
The used envelope, especially the surcharged provincial issue, can be categorised as Super RARE.
