Pillar Post manuscript

Travancore 1896 One chuckram envelope picked up from Thycattussery (near Cherthala), but was obliterated only at Vaikom (Thi-34), and then to Ollur, Trichur via Ernakulam.

Note the postman manuscript......'17-5-71 Thycattussery Pillar' on the reverse of the envelope.

Thycattusserry is situated in Pallippuram Islands, 35 km north of Alappuzha and 30 km south of Kochi. The major income source of this place is fishing and coir industry. Thycattusserry is geographically surrounded by Vembanad lake and its tributaries.
